American Red Cross: Exploring Humanitarian Law (EHL)

Exploring Humanitarian Law (EHL) is an adaptable toolkit that gives educators easy-to-use materials to expose students to issues of international humanitarian law, the rules that ensure respect for life and human dignity in war. The toolkit offers educators primary source materials and strategies that reinforce and enrich existing curricula and educational programs.


Association for Conflict Resolution

The Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) is a professional organization enhancing the practice and public understanding of conflict resolution. We are the nation’s largest professional association for mediators, arbitrators, educators and other conflict resolution practitioners.


Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence

The mission of the Brady organization is to create a safer America for all of us that will lead to a dramatic reduction in gun deaths and injuries. Brady has announced the bold goal to cut the number of U.S. gun deaths in half by 2025, based on an innovative and exciting strategy that centers on the idea of keeping guns out of the wrong hands through three impact-driven, broadly engaging campaigns.


Campus Conflict Resolution Resources

The primary objective of the Campus Conflict Resolution Resources project is to significantly increase administrator, faculty, staff and student awareness of, access to, and use of conflict resolution information specifically tailored to the higher education context.


Conciliation Resources

Conciliation Resources is a peacebuilding NGO supporting people at the heart of conflicts who are striving to find solutions. They work with them to deepen the collective understanding of the conflict, bring together divided communities and create opportunities for them to resolve their differences peacefully.


Generation Citizen

Generation Citizen strengthens our nation’s democracy by empowering young people to become engaged and effective citizens. Generation Citizen partners college students with classroom teachers to teach an action civics course in which teens solve problems they are facing in their own communities.


Immigration Equality

Immigration Equality is a national organization fighting for equality under U.S. immigration law for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and HIV-positive individuals. Founded in 1994 as the Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights Task Force, Immigration Equality provides legal aid and advocacy for LGBT and HIV-positive immigrants and their families.


NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc (LDF)

The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF) is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice.


National Economic and Social Rights Initiative (NESRI)

In partnership with communities, NESRI works to build a broad movement for economic & social rights, including health, housing, education and work with dignity. Based on the principle that fundamental human needs create human rights obligations on the part of government and the private sector, NESRI advocates for public policies that guarantee the universal and equitable fulfillment of these rights in the United States.


National Issues Forums

National Issues Forums bring people together to talk about important issues. They range from small study circles held in peoples’ homes to large community gatherings modeled on New England town meetings. Each forum focuses on a specific issue such as illegal drugs, Social Security, or juvenile crime.

The National Peace Academy is a home for peace professionals and community organizers looking to hone their practice and for budding community leaders and changemakers who are seeking knowledge and skills to create safe, healthy and sustainable communities and nurture positive change in themselves, their family, neighborhood, workplace and the world.


National School Climate Center (NSCC)

NSCC’s mission is to measure and improve the climate for learning in schools to help children realize their fullest potential as individuals and as engaged members of society.


Network for Peace Through Dialogue

Network for Peace through Dialogue is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting grassroots communities, both local and global in order to identify and research common issues and solutions in the areas of making peace and promoting just action.


Odyssey Networks

Odyssey Networks, founded in 1987, is the nation’s largest multi-faith coalition dedicated to producing and distributing media that fosters understanding among people of different beliefs and perspectives and that enriches spiritual life. Odyssey-produced content can be seen on a variety of platforms including cable TV, the Internet, mobile smartphones, e-readers and tablets.


Search for Common Ground

Works to transform the way the world deals with conflict – away from adversarial approaches and towards collaborative problem solving. They use a multi-faceted approach, employing media initiatives and working with local partners in government and civil society, to find culturally appropriate means to strengthen societies’ capacity to deal with conflicts constructively: to understand the differences and act on the commonalities.


U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)

U.S. foreign assistance has always had the twofold purpose of furthering America’s interests while improving lives in the developing world. USAID carries out U.S. foreign policy by promoting broad-scale human progress at the same time it expands stable, free societies, creates markets and trade partners for the United States, and fosters good will abroad.


United States Institute of Peace (USIP)

USIP is the independent, nonpartisan conflict management center created by Congress to prevent and mitigate international conflict without resorting to violence. USIP works to save lives, increase the government’s ability to deal with conflicts before they escalate, reduce government costs, and enhance our national security.


Vera Institute of Justice

The Vera Institute of Justice combines expertise in research, demonstration projects, and technical assistance to help leaders in government and civil society improve the systems people rely on for justice and safety.
