AC4 Scholarships for Students from Historically Underrepresented Groups

Qualifications

  • This scholarship is open to master’s and doctoral students who are from minority groups.
  • ‘Historically underrepresented’ is broadly defined. It may include, but is not limited to, ethnicity, race, color, or disability.

Scholarship Information

  • AC4 annually gives up to 4 scholarships to students from ‘historically underrepresented groups’.
  • Students may use the scholarship to cover the cost of flights, accommodations, meals and any other conference related expenses.

AC4 Scholarships for Students from Developing Countries

Qualifications

  • This scholarship is open to master’s and doctoral students who are nationals of developing countries.
  • Students from developing countries who studying within the US are also eligible to apply.

Scholarship Information

  • AC4 annually gives up to 4 scholarships to students from developing countries.
  • Students may use the scholarship to cover the cost of flights, accommodations, meals and any other conference related expenses.


Application Process

  • Submit research abstract to IACM.
  • Upon acceptance by IACM coordinators, assemble and submit AC4 Scholarship application on the AC4 Online Application Form

Application includes:

  1. A copy of abstract submitted to IACM;
  2. Applicant Data: full name, country of origin, email address and phone number, along with a copy of current Student Identification card;
  3. Personal Essay: 2-page, double-spaced narrative outlining a) the applicant’s topic, b) the financial need that hinders the applicant’s attendance at the conference c) how the applicant will add value to the IACM conference, d) how the applicant will benefit from the AC4 scholarship; and, if applicable 2) how applicant identifies as being part of a historically underrepresented group;
  4. One signed Letter of Recommendation, on institutional letterhead; and
  5. Proposed Budget, indicating estimated expenses and how the funding award will be spent.

When applications are being accepted, applicants should submit application using the AC4 online application form.

Application Submission and Notification of Acceptance

  • AC4 Online Application opens after IACM Conference decision notifications have been sent.
  • Eligible candidates will have 2-3 weeks to complete and submit application to AC4. Application deadline: TBA (Deadline in 2019 was April 17th)
  • Scholarship recipients will be notified of their acceptance via email after selection committee has conducted review.
